The water storage capacity of the five major reservoirs of the Yellow River reached 32.796 billion cubic meters.

Beijing, 18 Feb (Reporter Wang Hao) The reporter learned from the Ministry of Water Resources that at present, the five reservoirs of the Yellow River, namely Longyangxia, Liujiaxia, Wanjiazhai, Sanmenxia and Xiaolangdi, have a total storage capacity of 32.796 billion cubic meters, of which the storage capacity of Longyangxia and Xiaolangdi reservoirs is 1.113 billion cubic meters and 916 million cubic meters higher than the average in the last decade, respectively, providing sufficient water for spring irrigation in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River.

Water the spring water and get more grain. Since February, the winter wheat in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River has entered the green growth stage, and the water consumption of spring irrigation in Henan and Shandong provinces has continued to increase. The water diversion volume is expected to reach more than 400 cubic meters per second, and the peak irrigation water consumption in the middle and lower reaches will be ushered in March.

The Yellow River Water Conservancy Committee of the Ministry of Water Resources went deep into the irrigation area to check the farmland moisture and timely understand the water demand for spring irrigation. Combined with the incoming water and demand of the Yellow River, since mid-February, the discharge flow of Xiaolangdi Reservoir has been increased to 1000 cubic meters per second. Next, the Yellow River Conservancy Commission will strengthen the real-time dispatching and fine dispatching of Xiaolangdi Reservoir, fully meet the water demand during the critical period of winter wheat growth, and provide water source guarantee for the summer grain harvest.
