  This year marks the centenary of the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the centenary of the establishment of the United front policy of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s national revolution.

  Great unity and reunification is the unswerving pursuit of the Chinese nation. The General Secretary of the Supreme Leader stressed that it is necessary to continuously consolidate and develop the great unity of the people of all ethnic groups in the country and the Chinese people at home and abroad, fully mobilize all positive factors, and unite the majestic forces of building a strong country and national rejuvenation. This is a great encouragement and important guidance for doing a good job in the United front work in the new era and new journey.

  This year marks the centenary of the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the formal establishment of the United front policy of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s national revolution. Although this United front finally broke down due to subjective and objective reasons, and the vigorous Great Revolution also failed, the establishment of this policy fully demonstrated that the people of China are people with great unity spirit, the Chinese nation is a nation with great unity spirit, and the Communist Party of China (CPC) is the leading force and mainstay to carry forward the great unity spirit and promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

  The Communist Party of China (CPC) first proposed the establishment of a revolutionary united front.

  Looking back on the history of the Party in the past century, among the various political forces in modern China, the Communist Party of China (CPC) was the first to call for the establishment of a national revolutionary united front and resistance to imperialist aggression.

  In November, 1921, Mao Zedong published the article "What he hoped for in the labor union" in Labor Weekly, and shouted "Workers all over the world unite!" The slogan. In May 1922, the Declaration of the First National Labor Conference put forward that "workers and oppressed people all over the world should unite and March towards the bourgeoisie and the oppressed class together!" This is the first time that the Party has led the working people of the whole country to put forward a congress with United front ideological documents. The first National Congress of the Socialist Youth League of China held in Guangzhou in the same month clearly stated: "The Socialist Youth League of China recognizes that the problem of liberating the proletariat and the oppressed nation is a world problem. To achieve the goal of socialism, it is necessary for the proletariat and the oppressed nation in the world to unite in revolution." This is the first party group organization to shout out the slogan of United front thought.

  Driven by the above-mentioned organizations and individuals, inspired by Lenin’s national revolutionary thought, in June 1922, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) published "the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s Views on the Current Situation", which clearly stated for the first time in the name of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) (actually, it was not formed at that time): "the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s method is to invite revolutionary Democrats such as the Kuomintang and revolutionary socialist groups to hold a joint meeting to jointly establish a democratic United front on the basis of the above principles. The central leadership began to consider "jointly establishing a democratic United front" with other political parties. This thought has experienced an expansion process from the central leadership to the whole party at the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China. At the same time, the establishment of the United front is clearly directed at Sun Yat-sen’s Kuomintang, which can be called the bud of the United front thought.

  In July, 1922, the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China was secretly held in Shanghai, and the idea of a United front was formally put forward. This is not only reflected in the Declaration issued by the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China, but also reflected in the Resolution on "Democratic United Front". In the "Declaration", not only the idea of establishing a national revolutionary United front was put forward for the first time, but also the slogan of "Down with international imperialism" was clearly shouted. The declaration pointed out: the Communist Party of China (CPC) "wants workers and poor peasants to establish a democratic United front with the petty bourgeoisie" and called on "workers and poor peasants must unite with the petty bourgeoisie again under the banner of the Communist Party of China (CPC)". The Resolution on "Democratic United Front" not only clearly puts forward the idea of "Democratic United Front", but also puts forward the corresponding three-point plan. Once the resolution was passed by the General Assembly, it became the will of the whole party, thus realizing a major change in the strategic policy of the whole party.

  Regarding this important transformation of the Party’s Second Congress, Chen Duxiu, Chairman of the Second Central Executive Committee, pointed out in the report of the Party’s Third Congress: "In the past, our party’s policies were idealistic and unrealistic, and later we began to pay more attention to the current situation of China society and participate in realistic movements." "Since then, our party’s political views have changed greatly". In this regard, Cai Hesen, the second executive member of the Central Committee and Minister of Propaganda Department, also pointed out: "At the First Congress of the Communist Party of China (1921), our party did not decide on any policy … … This proves that it can only be said that it is a propaganda organ, not a political party, because there is no policy resolution on political issues. By the second congress, the party had a policy and began to make political propaganda. In the past, it was completely advocating, and now it is a political proposition. "

  It is worth noting that the above personal remarks and Party documents were published in Shanghai. In particular, the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held in Shanghai, where declarations and resolutions were issued. Shanghai is undoubtedly the place where the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s United front thought was put forward.

  Solve difficult problems and take the lead in establishing the policy of inner-party cooperation between Kuomintang and Communist Party.

  Thought is the forerunner of action. From the idea of United front to the formulation of United front policy, that is, from theory to practice, it is bound to go through a difficult process of debate and even struggle. Undoubtedly, the policy of inner-party cooperation was the only practical policy at that time, which was not only an unprecedented severe test for the the Communist Party of China (CPC) people who practiced their initial intentions and undertook their mission, but also a phoenix-like rebirth opportunity for the Kuomintang people in China.

  The first heated debate took place at the West Lake Conference in Hangzhou in August 1922. According to the changes in the international and domestic situation, under the guidance of the Comintern, our party decided to establish a United front of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party through intra-party cooperation. The establishment and recognition of this policy, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has experienced two stages of gradual acceptance from the central level to the whole party. After a heated debate in August 1922, the West Lake Conference finally accepted Chen Duxiu’s policy of conditionally joining the Kuomintang and implementing inner-party cooperation, thus realizing the transformation from the democratic United front to the inner-party cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party at the central level. After the meeting, Chen Duxiu and Li Dazhao took the lead in joining the Kuomintang.

  The second heated debate took place at the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In June, 1923, the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China passed the Resolution on the National Movement and the Kuomintang and the Declaration of the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with a slight advantage, and officially decided that Communist party member would join the Kuomintang in his own name to realize the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, thus determining the policy of the United front of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. The determination of the policy of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party is the three most important historical achievements of the Party.

  The third debate is a fierce debate within the Kuomintang. On the one hand, Sun Yat-sen ruled out the resistance and opposition of the old Rightists in the Kuomintang and reinterpreted the Three People’s Principles, so that the new Three People’s Principles were basically consistent with the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s democratic revolutionary program and became the political basis for cooperation. On the other hand, communist party people who joined the Kuomintang also fought against the Kuomintang Rightists, pushing Sun Yat-sen to reorganize the Kuomintang. In January 1924, the First National Congress of the Kuomintang was held in Guangzhou. After fierce struggle, the meeting finally established three major policies of "uniting Russia, uniting the Communist Party and helping the peasants and workers", and adopted the decision of Communist party member and youth league members to join the Kuomintang in their own names, thus marking the formal formation of the Kuomintang-Communist cooperation United front. Since then, the prelude of the national revolutionary United front has been opened, and the great practice of the century-old United front has also been officially opened.

  The United front shows the great unity spirit of the Chinese nation.

  Unity and struggle is the most prominent spiritual symbol of the people of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and China. The spirit of great unity formed is an important part of Chinese excellent traditional culture, a common treasure of Chinese people at home and abroad, and a powerful spiritual support for Chinese people at home and abroad to strive for self-improvement and unity from generation to generation. The United front policy has determined that all the achievements made by the party and the people in the past 100 years are the result of United struggle.

  First of all, the United front has carried forward the great unity spirit of the Chinese nation.. The United front led by the Communist Party of China (CPC) unites all revolutionary classes in China society as never before, gathering them into a historical torrent to promote national independence and people’s liberation, and carrying forward the great unity spirit of the Chinese nation. General Secretary of the Supreme Leader profoundly expounded and summarized the five outstanding characteristics of Chinese civilization at the forum on cultural inheritance and development, namely, continuity, innovation, unity, inclusiveness and peace, among which continuity, unity and inclusiveness embody the spirit of great unity.

  Secondly, the United front has become an important magic weapon for China’s revolution, construction and reform.. Over the past 100 years, the United front has not only become one of the three magic weapons for China’s revolution to win, but also an important magic weapon for China’s construction, reform and national rejuvenation. The history of the party’s hundred years of struggle tells us that unity is strength and struggle to create the future; Only a nation that can unite and struggle can have a future, and a political party that can unite and struggle can be invincible. History also tells us that unity formed around a clear goal of struggle is the strongest unity, and struggle based on close unity is the most powerful struggle. We have created glorious history by United struggle, and we must also open up a bright future by United struggle.

  Thirdly, the spirit of great unity will surely gather the majestic power of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.. In the new era, the Communist Party of China (CPC) will further consolidate and expand the patriotic United front in order to achieve the goal of the second century and achieve the great cause of rejuvenation in the past century. In November, 2021, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Resolution on the Great Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party’s Hundred Years’ Struggle declared to the world: "As long as we continue to consolidate and develop the great unity of all ethnic groups, the people of the whole country and all Chinese people, and build a strong sense of the Chinese nation community, and form a vivid situation in which all Chinese people at home and abroad are thinking in one place and working hard in one place, we will certainly be able to gather the majestic power to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation."   Action Plan for Accelerating Green and Low-carbon Innovation and Development of Power Equipment

  This action plan is formulated to thoroughly implement the major strategic decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on carbon neutrality in peak carbon dioxide emissions, promote clean energy production and electrification of energy consumption, promote the construction of new power systems, and accelerate the green and low-carbon innovative development of power equipment.

  I. General requirements

  (A) the guiding ideology

  Guided by Socialism with Chinese characteristics Thought of the Supreme Leader in the New Era, we will fully implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the previous plenary sessions of the 19th National Congress, thoroughly implement the ecological civilization thought of the Supreme Leader, fully, accurately and comprehensively implement the new development concept based on the new development stage, build a new development pattern, adhere to market dominance, government guidance, innovation drive and industrial upgrading, take high-end intelligent and green development as the direction, and take green and low-carbon scientific and technological innovation as the drive. Taking application innovation and demonstration promotion as the starting point, we will accelerate the construction of equipment supply system to support clean production and green consumption of energy, promote the high-quality development of power equipment, and help peak carbon dioxide emissions achieve its goal smoothly.

  (II) Main objectives

  After 5-8 years, the supply structure of power equipment has been significantly improved, the transmission and distribution efficiency of power grid has been significantly improved, the development and demonstration application of high-end intelligent greening have been accelerated, and the international competitiveness has been further enhanced, which basically meets the needs of new power system construction that adapts to the high proportion and large-scale access of non-fossil energy. The flexibility of coal-fired generating units has exceeded 200 million kilowatts, and the supply capacity of renewable energy power generation equipment has been continuously improved. Wind power and solar power generation equipment meet the installed demand of more than 1.2 billion kilowatts, and nuclear power equipment meets the installed demand of 70 million kilowatts.

  Second, the key tasks

  (1) Green upgrade of equipment system

  Coordinate the adjustment of the supply structure of power generation, transmission and distribution equipment, accelerate the development of clean and low-carbon power generation equipment around the construction of new power systems, improve the consumption and support capacity of power transmission and transformation equipment, accelerate the upgrading of power distribution equipment, improve the energy efficiency matching level of power equipment, and promote the recycling of resources.

  1. Accelerate the development of clean and low-carbon power generation equipment. Promote the transformation of energy saving and carbon reduction, flexibility transformation and heating transformation of coal-fired power equipment. Accelerate the research and development of gas turbines. Promote the wide-load transformation of hydropower units, accelerate the development and application of variable-speed pumped storage and offshore pumped storage equipment, and study the key technologies of high-head impact hydropower units. Further accelerate the batch production of the third generation nuclear power and accelerate the research and development of the fourth generation nuclear power equipment. Promote the development of wind, light and storage integrated equipment, and promote the research and development of grid-type new energy power generation equipment. Accelerate the development and application of biomass energy equipment and development and utilization equipment such as ocean energy and geothermal energy. Efforts will be made to overcome technical equipment such as hydrogen production from renewable energy.

  2. Improve the consumption and support capacity of power transmission and transformation equipment. Accelerate the development of UHV transmission and transformation equipment and flexible DC transmission equipment in view of the "double high" characteristics of high proportion of renewable energy and high proportion of power electronic equipment in the power grid and the demand characteristics of double load peaks in summer and winter. Aiming at safe, flexible, green and low-carbon transmission network technology and equipment, we will continue to develop generator circuit breakers and high-voltage vacuum switchgear with different voltage levels and interrupting capacities, and accelerate research and development breakthroughs in high-power power electronic devices and natural ester (plant) insulated oil transformers.

  3. Accelerate the upgrading of distribution equipment. Develop protection and control power distribution equipment that meets the characteristics of "double height" and "double randomness" (randomness of distributed new energy and randomness of adjustable load) of new power systems. Relying on the construction of intelligent distribution network and active distribution network, we will speed up the flexible and controllable interconnection between power grids, actively develop smart microgrids focusing on the consumption of new energy, and accelerate the breakthrough of comprehensive energy management and utilization, multi-power optimization and interaction and other technical equipment.

  4. Improve the matching level of energy efficiency of electrical equipment. Develop high-power density permanent magnet motors, synchronous reluctance motors, intelligent motors, ultra-efficient asynchronous motors and other products. Strengthen the development and application of high-efficiency and energy-saving transformers. Accelerate the popularization and application of energy-efficient electric boilers, electric furnaces and other equipment, and expand the substitution of electric energy in industries, transportation, construction and other fields. Accelerate the improvement of energy efficiency of energy-using systems, and carry out matching energy-saving transformation and operation control optimization of key electrical equipment systems. Promote the improvement of waste motor recycling system, encourage enterprises to carry out motor remanufacturing, and promote the application of remanufactured motor products.

  Column 1 Key directions of green and low-carbon development in the top ten fields of power equipment

  Promote the green and low-carbon development of power equipment in 10 fields, including thermal power, hydropower, nuclear power, wind power, solar energy, hydrogen energy, energy storage, transmission, distribution and electricity consumption.

  Thermal power equipment. Carry out research and application of technologies such as high efficiency, wide load, flexibility, quality improvement, energy saving and emission reduction, deep peak shaving, unit life extension and intelligence of in-service units and systems. Focus on the development of technologies and equipment such as coal-electricity multi-energy coupling and wind, light and water storage multi-energy complementary power generation, gas turbine power generation, carbon capture and utilization and storage, coal gasification combined cycle power generation and coal gasification fuel cell power generation.

  Hydropower equipment. Focus on the development of technologies and equipment such as wide-load transformation and intelligent upgrading of hydropower units, ultra-high head impact units under complex geological conditions, variable-speed pumped storage and seawater pumped storage, tidal power stations and megawatt tidal current power generation, megawatt wave power generation, capacity increase and efficiency improvement of old hydropower units.

  Nuclear power equipment. Focus on the development of nuclear-grade castings and forgings, key pump valves, control systems, nuclear-grade instruments and meters, cobalt-based welding materials, etc. Study and establish the verification database of nuclear power special software to support the development, optimization and upgrade of software system. Accelerate the standardization and pedigree development of the third generation nuclear power, and continue to promote the research and development and application of the fourth generation nuclear power reactors such as sodium-cooled fast reactor, high temperature gas-cooled reactor and lead-bismuth fast reactor. We will accelerate the research on cutting-edge disruptive technologies such as controlled nuclear fusion.

  Wind power equipment. Focus on the development of onshore wind turbines above 8MW and offshore wind turbines above 13MW, and develop floating offshore wind power equipment in the deep sea. Break through the new fixed support structure, main bearing and key power module of converter of super-large offshore wind turbine. Increase the application of basic simulation software and sliding bearings, and research and develop the technical route of wind turbine blade retirement.

  Solar equipment. Focus on developing high-efficiency and low-cost photovoltaic cell technology. Research and development of highly reliable and intelligent photovoltaic modules and inverters with high voltage, high power and high heat dissipation efficiency, as well as key technologies such as intelligent fault detection and rapid positioning. Develop integrated operation and maintenance technology and intelligent photovoltaic management system based on new generation information technologies such as 5G, advanced computing and artificial intelligence. Actively develop solar photothermal power generation, and promote the establishment of multi-energy complementary integration of photothermal power generation, photovoltaic and energy storage. The implementation path of photovoltaic module resource utilization is studied.

  Hydrogen energy equipment. Accelerate the research and development and application of hydrogen production, hydrogen fuel cell stacks and other technical equipment, and strengthen the key components of hydrogen fuel cells and long-distance pipeline hydrogen transmission technology.

  Energy storage equipment. Greatly improve the reliability of electrochemical energy storage equipment, accelerate the development of compressed air energy storage and flywheel energy storage equipment, and develop multi-level fire safety protection technology and equipment for energy storage power stations. Research and development of on-line detection, state prediction and early warning technology and equipment for energy storage batteries and systems.

  Transmission equipment. Focus on the research and development of offshore wind power flexible DC transmission and low frequency transmission, AC-DC hybrid distribution network system, switching arc, long-term live reliability evaluation of equipment and other technologies. Breakthrough the converter transformer on-load tap changer, bushing, intelligent components and other basic parts and components. We will develop high-end electrical steel low-loss transformers, thermoplastic environmental protection cable materials, new low-greenhouse-effect environmental protection insulating gases and other related equipment.

  Power distribution equipment. Accelerate the development and application of digital sensors, power routers, power flow controllers, solid state circuit breakers and other protection and control core equipment. Accelerate the integration and application of new power distribution equipment and the construction of highly autonomous power distribution system in application scenarios such as data center, mobile communication and rail transit.

  Electrical equipment. Focus on the development of class 2 and above energy-efficient motors, direct-drive and integrated permanent magnet/reluctance electric drive systems, ultra-efficient and high-torque electromechanical system assemblies, smart motors, microgrid and third-generation semiconductor frequency conversion power supply high-efficiency motor systems and electric drive equipment.

  (B) Power equipment technology innovation and upgrading actions

  Adhere to the drive of innovation, strengthen the dominant position of enterprise innovation, improve the industrial innovation system and industrial development ecology, promote the development of industrial clusters, and continuously enhance the competitiveness of industrial chain supply chain. Break through a number of key core technologies in the field of power equipment, build a number of innovative platforms and cultivate a number of industrial clusters.

  5. Accelerate key core technology research. We will implement the industrial base reconstruction project, adopt such mechanisms as "unveiling the list" and "horse racing", support enterprises to increase investment in research and development, and accelerate the breakthrough of a number of basic parts, components, materials, software, technology and industrial technology foundations of power equipment. Promote the integration and innovation of new materials and power equipment, and promote the collaborative innovation of upstream and downstream of the industrial chain and the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements.

  6. Strengthen the construction of innovation platform. Consolidate the dominant position of enterprise innovation, promote the concentration of innovation elements to enterprises, and promote the deep integration of Industry-University-Research. Focus on the priority development of complete sets of equipment, key components, key materials, key common technologies, etc., focusing on common technology research and development and public services, encourage leading enterprises in the industry to take the lead, and jointly build innovative platforms with universities, research institutes and upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry to promote the sharing and optimal allocation of resources of various scientific and technological forces.

  7. Promote industrial agglomeration and enterprise financing development. Enlarge and strengthen the advanced manufacturing clusters of power equipment in Northeast China, East China, Southwest China and Northwest China. Relying on the national new industrialization demonstration base, etc., promote the development of power equipment industry cluster. Encourage complete machine enterprises to establish stable cooperative relations with supporting enterprises, cultivate specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprises and single champion enterprises in manufacturing industry, and accelerate the construction of an industrial development ecology with innovative collaboration, capacity sharing and supply chain interoperability.

  (C) Network intelligent transformation and development actions

  Deepen the integration with the new generation of information technology, accelerate the innovation and change of power equipment product form, research and development means, production mode and service mode, and promote the development of digital green service. Cultivate a number of intelligent manufacturing and industrial Internet benchmarking enterprises and demonstration parks in the field of power equipment.

  8. Deepen the application of "5G+ Industrial Internet". Study the reference guide for the integration of industrial Internet and power equipment, and deepen the application of "5G+ industrial Internet" in the manufacturing, operation and maintenance of power equipment. Promote the construction of an Internet digital transformation promotion center for the power equipment industry and build a benchmark for 5G fully connected factories.

  9. Accelerate intelligent manufacturing. Carry out pilot demonstration actions of intelligent manufacturing, build intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories, and concise excellent scenes of intelligent manufacturing. Build intelligent networked equipment, improve the real-time optimization ability of industrial control system, and strengthen the simulation and data analysis ability of industrial software.

  10. Accelerate the transformation of service-oriented manufacturing. Accelerate the development of power equipment network service, promote remote operation and maintenance services in wind power, hydropower and other fields, promote product life cycle management in nuclear power field, and build Sharing Manufacturing factory in the field of low-voltage electrical appliances and high-efficiency motor manufacturing. Encourage the development of supply chain service enterprises, support manufacturing enterprises to extend the value chain and provide design services or comprehensive energy solutions.

  (D) technical support and safeguard actions

  Take the market as the main body, give full play to the role of the government, promote the better combination of effective market and promising government, improve the industrial technical service system, and guide the standardized development of the industry.

  11. Strengthen the construction of technical standards system. Focusing on the development requirements of green, high efficiency and safety, we will promote the construction of national standard verification points and speed up the formulation and revision of national standards such as energy efficiency improvement and functional safety of power equipment. Improve the standard system of the whole industry chain such as new energy storage and hydrogen energy. Optimize UHV AC and DC equipment standards, promote the standardization of smart distribution network technology and equipment, and continuously improve the technical standards for energy efficiency of electrical equipment.

  12. Promote the testing and certification of green and low-carbon equipment. Organize the formulation and revision of carbon emission accounting methods in key areas of power equipment, and promote the establishment of an industry carbon emission accounting method system with comprehensive coverage and scientific algorithm. Improve the green product standards, certification and labeling system, and explore the establishment of carbon neutral certification system for power equipment in peak carbon dioxide emissions.

  (E) Action to promote application model innovation

  Strengthen policy guidance and support, promote application innovation and popularization, and form a higher level dynamic balance of demand pulling supply and supply creating demand. Acupuncture was originally the "bian method", and the ancients often used bian stone to stab carbuncle and pus, and bian thorn to bleed. Zhou Mi, a famous litterateur in the Southern Song Dynasty, recorded the ingenuity and precision of acupuncture bronze men at that time in his classic "Wild Tales in Qidong". According to the book, the acupuncture bronze man has internal organs, and the acupoints on the bronze man are perforated. Water (in some versions, it is "mercury") is injected into them in advance, and then the acupoints are sealed with yellow wax, and then the medical workers can find a certain acupoint and acupuncture it. At that time, the bronze man was also stabbed through the clothes. If the needle was found accurately, water (or mercury) would naturally flow out after the needle was inserted.

In the Ming Dynasty, acupuncture and moxibustion were innovated and developed. There are some comprehensive acupuncture works, among which Yang Jizhou’s Acupuncture Dacheng has the greatest influence. Since its publication in Wanli, this book has been reprinted many times and spread widely. It has not only attracted the attention of academic circles in China, but also been translated into Japanese, French, German and other languages. By the early and middle period of Qing Dynasty, acupuncture showed a trend of "returning from the doctor’s post to the doctor’s post", and it developed in a simple and safe direction. After 1949, acupuncture ushered in a good opportunity, and the government strongly supported the development of Chinese medicine. In April, 1975, entrusted by the World Health Organization and approved by the State Council, the China government started international acupuncture classes in Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing successively, and trained acupuncture talents for all countries in the world.

How powerful is it?

Acupuncture researchers at home and abroad have adopted rigorous clinical epidemiological research methods and carried out large-scale clinical verification. The current research mainly focuses on the following aspects:

* Analgesia

More than 60% of acupuncture patients in the world are pain-related diseases, and the proportion of pain patients in foreign acupuncture clinics is higher.

Acupuncture treatment of pain has obtained high-quality clinical evidence. Foreign scholars analyzed the original data of 39 randomized controlled acupuncture clinical trials in western countries from 2008 to 2015 by using single-case meta-analysis, and included 20,827 patients, which proved that the curative effect of acupuncture on head, neck, shoulder and low back pain was obviously better than that of sham acupuncture (comfort acupuncture) and no acupuncture, and the analgesic effect only decreased by 15% after one year of follow-up.

Chinese scholars have proved that acupuncture as an adjuvant therapy can definitely improve the frequency and degree of angina pectoris attacks in patients with chronic stable angina pectoris, and can alleviate the anxiety and depression symptoms of patients.

Acupuncture can also activate the human endogenous analgesic system by stimulating the body surface, so as to play an analgesic role and avoid drug resistance and addiction. In October 2018, US President Trump signed a bill called H.R.6, which aims to find alternative drugs and treatments for pain and curb the proliferation of opioid analgesic drugs in the United States. What are the differences between East and West?

From the above analysis, it can be seen that acupuncture is widely used in clinical treatment of diseases, and the research on acupuncture has gradually developed from traditional clinical treatment to modern experimental analysis and verification, and penetrated into modern frontier science fields. However, the purpose of clinical research in East and West is completely different.

In 1990s, in order to verify the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and provide support for health decision-making and whether acupuncture and moxibustion should be included in insurance, German federal doctors and health insurance company committees organized large-scale randomized controlled trials, RCT).

In this experiment, "GERAC" and "ART" were set up to verify the clinical effectiveness of acupuncture in treating low back pain, knee osteoarthritis, migraine prevention and tension-type headache.

These two studies are considered to be the largest high-quality clinical trials to evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture and moxibustion in treating pain according to modern standards, and the results were published in the famous mainstream medical journals The Lancet, JAMA, BMJ, Arch Intern Med, Ann Intern Med and BMJ. However, among the results of acupuncture randomized trials, only two proved that true acupuncture was better than false acupuncture, and six proved that false acupuncture was effective.

In China, the purpose of clinical research is often to verify or popularize that a new acupuncture treatment scheme is superior to the conventional acupuncture treatment scheme (textbook scheme), and the results are mostly positive. However, the quality of methodology is not high, especially the control of comfort acupuncture is difficult to implement. In particular, the published bias has led the international community to question the efficacy of acupuncture.

Why is there a big gap between domestic and foreign report results?

The reason is that the demand and starting point of acupuncture are different, which directly affects the research purpose and interpretation method of acupuncture RCT at home and abroad. International attention is paid to whether acupuncture is effective for a certain disease, focusing on verifying the specific efficacy caused by acupuncture. At home, RCT mainly focuses on verifying the effectiveness or superiority of acupuncture, which belongs to the comparative study of overall efficacy.

It should be noted that there are many differences between the East and the West in the study of acupuncture.

First, the theoretical basis is very different: Chinese acupuncture is guided by the basic theory of Chinese medicine and based on the theory of meridians and acupoints. However, western acupuncture does not talk about acupoints and meridians. It absorbs the research results of life science and thinks that the five major mechanisms of acupuncture are: local effect of acupuncture; The effect of acupuncture on the same spinal cord segment; The effect of acupuncture across spinal cord segments; The function of trigger point; Regulation of central nervous system.

Second, the stimulation sites are different: acupuncture in China takes acupoints as stimulation sites, and doctors need to find suitable stimulation points in acupoints by "cutting, pressing and circulating" in clinic. Western acupuncture emphasizes the stimulation point or trigger point in clinical application. The trigger point refers to the local highly sensitive tenderness point contained in the palpable tight muscle band in skeletal muscle. There is overlap between acupoints and trigger points. Although the percentage of overlap is still controversial, the overlap rate reaches 95% in the treatment of pain.

Third, the ways of stimulation are different: there are various ways of acupuncture stimulation in traditional Chinese medicine, such as filiform needle, fire needle, bloodletting, moxibustion and so on. Clinically, it pays attention to techniques and getting qi, emphasizing "qi is effective". Western acupuncture often adopts transcutaneous electrical stimulation or shallow acupuncture with weak stimulation, and the time and frequency of stimulation are also different.

Fourth, the types of diseases are different: western acupuncture and moxibustion mainly treats pain, mainly treating myofascial pain. In addition to pain, acupuncture and moxibustion in traditional Chinese medicine pays more attention to the regulation of visceral function and qi and blood of the whole body, rather than simple analgesia.

Through these comparisons, we are also more clear about the current problems faced by acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine. Under the modern semantic framework, how to construct a modern acupuncture theory system with reasonable structure, clear hierarchy, clear concept and standardized expression, which can guide clinical practice, has become an important task at present, and can keep the foundation of the discipline.

Is the surname of acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine "Xi"?

In the process of acupuncture spreading to the world, modern acupuncture under the collision of East and West is facing the severe challenge of "internal troubles and foreign invasion".

In China, various acupuncture schools, techniques and special acupuncture methods are constantly emerging, and the traditional acupuncture theory of "internal anxiety" gradually loses its guiding role; In foreign countries, the embryonic form of "western medical acupuncture" has gradually taken shape, and the "medical acupuncture" whose "foreign invasion" is based on modern anatomy and physiology is gradually alienated or de-China, and the traditional acupuncture theory tends to be neglected.

Western acupuncture, which was born out of Chinese acupuncture, began to challenge the tradition in turn, leading to the query of Chinese acupuncture theories such as meridians and acupoints. This requires us to re-examine the functions and definitions of meridians and acupoints.

At the same time, the development of technology and technology is also changing the relationship between traditional medicine and patients. Under the influence of western science, which was born in industrial civilization and information age, the basic research and clinical research of acupuncture can be carried out in time through equipment.

Regain self-confidence

Under the tide of globalization, acupuncture has become the forerunner of Chinese medicine to the world. Compared with Europe and America, the advantages of acupuncture in China are far from being brought into play. What should we do?

It is very important to develop and protect the intellectual property rights of traditional Chinese medicine.

In June, 2006, the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list in China was published, and the acupuncture projects jointly declared by Chinese Acupuncture Society and Acupuncture Institute of Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine were listed as one of them, which created good conditions for Chinese acupuncture to declare the representative list of human intangible cultural heritage.

In the same year, China also launched the declaration of the world intangible cultural heritage of traditional Chinese medicine-with the overall content of "traditional Chinese medicine", which was named "Cognition and Practice of Life Diseases of Traditional Chinese Medicine".

However, due to the rich traditional culture and philosophy of China contained in traditional Chinese medicine, its huge system, numerous schools and wide application of clinical techniques to prevent and treat diseases, in June 2009, the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO decided that the declared "traditional Chinese medicine" is an intangible cultural heritage project with unclear inheritance group, and its definition is unclear, which will lead to weak protection pertinence, so it is suggested to re-declare it after revision.

Since ancient times, acupuncture and other external treatments of traditional Chinese medicine have occupied half of the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine. Inheriting acupuncture and moxibustion of traditional Chinese medicine can not be ignored. At the same time, under the background of modern medicine, how to realize the integration of traditional acupuncture and modern research, inherit the essence of traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture and incorporate the new knowledge of modern science? This is also a breakthrough in the development of acupuncture.
